November 2, 2017. The 5th edition of WeXchange will begin in one month from now. The event will bring together high-growth women entrepreneurs, which will enable them to broaden their network of contacts through a variety of activities, and have access to mentors and investors. The event also includes the Pitch Competition, which this year will offer an immersion trip to Silicon Valley for the winner and her cofounder. All of this will be held in Santiago, Chile, December 4 and 5. In its 5th edition, WeXchange will focus on women entrepreneurs in STEAM fields—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—and will be a satellite event of the Gender Summit.

WeXchange is an initiative promoted by the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), the Innovation Laboratory of the IDB GroupandNXTPLabs. Since 2013, its aim has been to incentivize growth among women entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean. To do so it has carried out annual discussion forums bringing together—in a record period of four years—more than 1,000 women entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and experts from 24 countries. The 2017 edition is made possible thanks to the support of the Inter-American Investment Corporation, Endeavor Chile, and over 70 collaborating media organizations.

As in the previous editions, this event will feature the PitchCompetition, a contest that will grant a prize of participation in an immersion program in Silicon Valley to the most innovative dynamic woman entrepreneur in the region. The six finalists who will make their pitch before an international jury will soon be announced.

This year, with the theme: Women entrepreneurs changing the world with technology, the event will feature the participation of Carolyn Rodz, CEO of Circular Board; Susana Balbo, founder of Susana Balbo Wines; Sylvia Chebi, executive director and co-founder of ThalesLab; Carolina Reis Oliveira, co-founder and CEO of OneSkin Technologies; Susana García-Robles, chief of Financial Operations of the Multilateral Investment Fund; and Marta Cruz, founding partner of NXTP Labs, among others.

Additionally, the study Let’s Ask Men to Win and Women Not to Lose: closing the gender gap in the financing of startups, will be presented, led by Dana Kanze, doctoral candidate at Columbia University.

On December 4, the women entrepreneurs will receive training through workshops and a mentoring session organized by Endeavor Chile. On December 5, admission is open to the public and the Pitch Competition will be held. Also, there will be panels on topics such as: women entrepreneurs in non-conventional industries; intelligent growth; international expansion of companies, corporations, and startups; ageless entrepreneurship, and others.

If you would like to attend WeXchange, register at the forum and plan your trip to Santiago, Chile. Your application will be reviewed, and if you are accepted, the WeXchange team will get in touch with you. Admission is free with advance registration.

The forum will be held in the IF Italia Building (Avenida Italia, 850, Providencia) in Santiago, Chile, on December 4 and 5.
